Who we are

GAS Log (gaslog.app) is a gear tracking and community app for guitarists. We are Had A Farm LLC, based in Arkansas, United States. You can reach us at legal@hada.farm with any questions about this policy.

Who can use GAS Log

GAS Log is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. If you are under 13, you may not create an account or use GAS Log. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old.

What information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Your name and email address when you register
• Gear inventory data you enter: guitar, pedal, amp, and other gear names, descriptions, prices, serial numbers, and notes
• Photos you upload of your gear
• Practice session logs: date, duration, guitar used, amp used, and notes
• Your username and profile settings
• Any notes or content you add to your gear or sessions

Information collected automatically:

• Basic usage data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4), including pages visited, session duration, and general location (country/region level)
• Web push notification subscription tokens if you enable practice reminders
• Standard server logs including IP address and browser type

Information from third parties:

• If you make a payment or donation through Stripe or a service such as Buy Me a Coffee, those services handle your payment information directly. We do not receive or store your credit card or banking details.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and maintain your GAS Log account
• Display your gear collection, practice stats, and pick badges on your profile
• Power the AI-assisted gear normalization feature, which sends gear names to the Anthropic API to identify make, model, and rarity information
• Send practice reminder notifications if you have enabled them
• Calculate rarity scores based on aggregated gear data across all users
• Improve the app based on usage patterns
• Respond to your support requests

We do not send marketing emails. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

How your information is shared

Public information:

If you set your gear items to public, they appear on your public profile page at gaslog.app/u/your-username and in the community feed. Public gear items show the gear name, type, photo, and rarity score. Your username, session count, streak, and pick tier are also visible on your public profile. Prices, purchase dates, serial numbers, and location information are never shown publicly.

Service providers:

We share data with the following third-party services to operate GAS Log:

• Anthropic: gear names are sent to the Anthropic API for normalization and rarity scoring. No personal information is included.
• Google Analytics: aggregated, anonymized usage data.
• Laravel Forge and our hosting provider: server infrastructure.
• Stripe or Buy Me a Coffee: payment processing if you choose to support the app. These services operate under their own privacy policies.

Legal requirements:

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Had A Farm LLC, our users, or the public.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and gear data are deleted from our systems. Some data may remain in backups for up to 30 days following deletion.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your account settings
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing legal@hada.farm
• Opt out of web push notifications at any time in your profile settings
• Set individual gear items to private so they do not appear publicly

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under applicable law. Contact us at legal@hada.farm to exercise any of these rights.

Cookies and tracking

GAS Log uses cookies necessary for authentication and session management. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect aggregated usage data. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect app functionality.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Children's privacy

GAS Log is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at legal@hada.farm and we will delete the account promptly.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure server infrastructure, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@hada.farm.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of GAS Log after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
